St. Christopher Athletic Association is seeking individuals to assist us with the 2026-2027 athletic season! All interested candidates should send an email of interest to Logan Feldkamp, Athletic Director, at lfeldkamp@stchrisparish.com by 8/19. Applicants who are students must have this information submitted by a parent. CYO contests take place on Saturdays and Sundays between 8/22/26 and February 2027.
The following positions are available:
The site director serves as the point of contact for St. Christopher during CYO contests. They are responsible for maintaining an inviting and sportsmanlike atmosphere during games. This role is fundamental in ensuring the values of Catholic competition are upheld.
Responsibilities Include:
- Supervises scorekeepers and concession staff
- Welcomes contest officials, teams, and coaches
- Assists with rules and procedural questions during contests
- Ensures contest paperwork is prepared correctly and submitted timely
- Serves as point of contact for game day operations
- Deescalates conflicts that arise during competition<
Requirements
- 18 years of age or older (21 preferred)
- VIRTUS trained (training can be provided)
- Familiarity with volleyball and basketball
- Basic computer skills
- Calm, non-confrontational attitude
- Attend seasonal CYO site director training
Compensation
$15 per game during training period (3-5 games)
$30 per contest thereafter
The scorekeeper ensures CYO games run efficiently by providing a great experience for coaches, officials, parents, and players through accurate recordkeeping. The ideal candidate is attentive to detail, kind, and patient.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain sport-appropriate paper scoresheet
- Maintain accurate scoreboard statistics
- Answer basic questions for coaches and officials
- Assist contest officials with game management
- Develop proficiency in both paper (book) and digital (board) scorekeeping
Requirements:
- 9th grade student or older (adults welcome, must be VIRTUS trained)
- Familiarity with basketball and volleyball, including basic terms and rules
- Attend CYO scorekeeper training
Classification:
Level 1 Scorekeeper: Less than two full sport seasons of experience and/or proficiency in one scorekeeping method (book/board)
Level 2 Scorekeeper: Two full sports seasons of experience or more AND proficiency in both scorekeeping methods (book/board). Ability to train and assist level 1 scorekeepers.
Compensation:
- $8 per game during training (2 games)
- $14 per game for Level 1 scorekeeper
- $16 per game for Level 2 scorekeeper
Concession Stand Associate
The concession stand associate will operate and maintain the gym concession stand during CYO games, providing a friendly and helpful atmosphere for spectators and players.
Responsibilities:
– Handle cash responsibility and provide accurate amounts of change during transactions
– Operate square credit card readers and iPad to complete digital transactions
– Maintain a clean and welcoming concession environment
– Notes any items of low stock for Athletic Director
Requirements:
– 9th grade student or older (adults welcome, must be VIRTUS trained)
– Ability to work independently and responsibly
Compensation:
$10 per game + tips
