Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults

From the time of the ancient Apostles, becoming a Christian has been accomplished by a faith journey and initiation taking place in several stages. At Saint Christopher we make this journey toward full initiation into a life in Christ in the Catholic Church together as a community of faith.

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (R.C.I.A.) is a three step process leading to full membership in the Catholic Church. The Rite of Christian Initiation is a progression in faith for those adults who having heard the mystery of Christ proclaimed wish to enter the life of the Catholic Church and proceed toward that goal over a period of time through faith sharing, public rituals, and a conversion of life.

Persons baptized into another Christian church and are seeking full communion in the Catholic Church are welcome to join the R.C.I.A. process to learn about the Catholic faith.
